Class Outlines: Camp for ages 5 – 11

*Students
 participating
 in
 the
 camp
 for
 ages
 5­-11
 are
 encouraged
 to
 bring
 a
 small
 snack
with
 them
 each 
day. 

 The 
camp 
runs 
from 9

AM – ­12
PM, 
and 
we
 know
 little
 kiddos
 can
 get
 hungry
 during
 those
 hours.
 
 Each
 class
 will
 have
 a
 quick
 snack­-time 
built 
into 
their camp 
schedule.

Ages 5-6


“Music 
Makes 
Me 
Happy”
 taught
 by
Mariann Davidson:
Through
 fun
 games
 and
 songs,
 students
 will
 begin
 learning
 the
 basics
 of
 rhythm,
 melody,
 and
 harmony.
 
 Students
 will
 be
 introduced
 to
 various
 instruments
 and
 musical
 styles 
as
 a means 
to 
begin
 ear 
training.

There 
are 
no 
required 
materials 
for
 this
 class.

“First
 Stages”
 taught
 by
 Frank Rendon:
Your
 child’s
 creativity
 and
 imagination
 will
 be
 sparked
 as
 they
 learn
 some
 of
 the
 basic
 fundamentals
 of
 acting
 and
 theatre.
 Fun
 activities
 and
 games
 will
 be
 used
 to
 help 
break 
any
 type 
of
 stage
 fright.

“Tiny
 Dancers” 
taught

Ashley Pedigo:
“Tiny 
Dancers”
 will 
learn
 the 
basic
 fundamentals
 of
 dance
 with 
the 
use 
of 
fun 
music
 and
activities.

balance
 and
 coordination.

Ages 7-8

“Discover

 Magic
 of 
Music”

 environment,
 students
 will
 learn
 the
 basic
 of
 rhythm,
 melody,
 and
 harmony
 while
 getting
 opportunities
 to
 hear
 and/or
 play
 a
 variety
 of
 instruments.

 basics
 of
 music
 performance
 and
 composition.

“Magic
 in 
the 
Theater” 
taught
 by
Frank Rendon:
We
 will
 create
 characters
 and
 allow
 creativity
 to
 blossom
 through
 the
 use
 of
 fun
 games
 and
 activities.
 They
 will
 learn
 how
 important
 it
 is
 to
 project
 their
 voices
 and
 how
 active 
and
 actor 
really
 can
 be!

“Twinkle 
Toes” 
taught

 Ashley Pedigo
Time
 to
 set
 technique
 into
 motion!
 These
 students
 will
 strengthen
 their
 technique
 on 
the 
dance 
floor,
 introducing
 center
 work.

Ages 9-11

“Musicians 
in
 the 
Making”

While
 engaging
 in
 exciting
 and
 fun
 activities
 and
 games,
 students
 will
 learn
 the
 necessary
 tools
 needed
 for
 understanding
 and
 creating
 music.
 
 Although
 the
 basics
 of
 rhythm,
 melody,
 and
 harmony
 will
 be
 taught,
 through
 layered
 teaching,
 students
 with 
prior 
 musical
 experience
 will
 have 
opportunities 
to 
advance 
from
 their
 current
 level.

 Thespians”
 taught 
by Frank Rendon:
These
 young
 actors
 will
 be
 introduced
 to
 various
 styles
 of
 theatre
 and
 acting.
 They
 will
 discover
 genres
 such
 as
 Comedy,
 Action,
 Westerns
 and
 more.
 They
 will
 learn
 how
 to
 communicate
 with
 and
 without
 words
 and
 become
 well
 rounded
 “young
 thespians”.

 Pointe” 
taught

 Ashley Pedigo:
Now
 we
 really
 get
 moving!
 Students
 will
 continue
 center
 work
 while
 being
 introduced
 to
 moving
 combinations
 that
 will
 challenge
 their
 balance
 and
 coordination
 even
 more.
