MUSIC


Ages 5-11  –  “Kids on Broadway!” Taught by Mariann Davidson:

Through fun games and songs, students will begin learning the basics of theory, technique, rhythm, vocal modeling, and counting. They will learn the difference between melody and harmony, dynamics, time signatures, solfedge and choral singing. Students will be introduced to various musical and vocal styles to begin ear training. They will learn the beginnings of stage presence and movement in music and learn fun songs that go along with this Spring Semester’s Theme: “Kids on Broadway.” Showcase will be the last day of class. Most importantly you will have fun learning experience in a safe environment.

Required Materials: A Regular Composition notebook (not a music composition one…) all my students make a beginning theory reference book…

Ages 12+  –  “Give My Regards to Broadway!” Taught by Mariann Davidson:

Vocal readiness for an audition. This class will focus on how to make quality music by understanding how to implement skills learned in theory, technique, artistry, rhythm, dynamics, times signature, and harmony. They will learn skills in choral singing and beginnings of solo singing. They will start to understand more how to read and follow the music. Stage presence and acting while singing will be reinforced. Theme: “Give My regards to Broadway” showcase at the end of the semester for parents. Most importantly you will have fun learning experience in a safe environment. Showcase will be the last day of class.

Required Materials: A Regular Composition notebook (not a music composition one…)

ACTING

Ages 5-8  –  “Young Stars” Taught by Frank Rendon:

This class is to help plant the seeds of basic acting technique by using your body, voice and imagination to bring fun characters to life! This class will culminate in a showcase to allow our young stars to shine!

Ages 9-12  –  “Rising Stars” Taught by Frank Rendon:

The Rising Stars class will build on the skills learned in the Young Stars class while applying vocabulary and technique to scripted works. Students will learn to analyze text for beats, subtext, character motivations, tactics, playable actions, and given circumstances. This class will culminate in a showcase to show us how far our stars have risen!

Ages 13-Adult  –  “Grande Finale” Taught by Rachel Way:

In this class we will dive into the deeper side of acting.  We will cover the topics of auditioning, improvisation, characterization, and so much more. The class will be interactive and lecture style learning.

DANCE

Ages 5-11  –  “Tiny Tappers” Taught by Maddie Bryan:

Tiny people like to tap too! Ages 5-11 can come learn the basics of tap dancing, while having a lot of fun doing so.

Required Materials: Tap shoes.

Ages 12-17  –  “Tappin’ Teens” Taught by Maddie Bryan:

From shuffle steps to riffs and toe stands, this class is all about tap! This intermediate level class is perfect for teens who want to become a better tap dancer.

Required Materials: Tap shoes.

Ages 18-Adult  –  “Everybody Tap” Taught by Maddie Bryan:

It’s never too late to learn a new skill, so come learn the art of tap dancing! Now everybody ages 15 and up can tap it out in this beginner-intermediate tap class.

Required Materials: Tap shoes.

Ages 18+  –  “Technique and Fitness” Taught by Maddie Bryan:

Get in shape while becoming a better dancer in this technique and fitness class! We will focus on ballet and jazz technique, and explore core exercises including yoga and pilates.

Required Materials: Please bring any type of jazz or ballet shoe (socks are temporarily okay) and WATER. A yoga mat is recommended, but not required!
