Lubbock Moonlight Musicals is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that inspires audiences throughout the summer with fun and exciting musicals at the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre in Mackenzie Park, as well as large-scale Moonlight Broadway productions during the spring and autumn at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
Q: Where is the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre?
The Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre is located at 413 East Broadway in the beautiful setting of Lubbock, Texas’ Mackenzie Park, just off of Broadway to the east of Interstate 27.
Q: How do I get tickets?
Tickets are available for upcoming Lubbock Moonlight Musicals’ productions by calling 806-770-2000, online at www.selectaseatlubbock.com, at all Select-a-Seat locations, and at the theatre box-office immediately preceding performances.
Q: What is the difference between Premium and General seating at the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre?
The seating of the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre is broken up into three sections; left, right, and center. General admission ticket holders sit in the left or right sides, and children 9 and under sit in front of the accompanying adults. Premium ticket holders sit in the center section which gives them the best view point for seeing the show, and they also get preferential entrance at the gate prior to any present general admission ticket holders.
Q: Is outside food allowed?
You are most welcome to bring your picnic supper to the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre, though Civic Lubbock, Inc. does have a concession stand.
Q: Is smoking/drinking allowed?
Smoking, vaping, etc. is not allowed within or around the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre gates.
Outside food and drinks are allowed within the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre, but no alcoholic beverages will be permitted.
Q: Should I bring a chair?
While we do have a certain number of chairs available for patrons to borrow, it is highly suggested that guests bring their own folding or lawn chair to productions at the Moolight Musicals Amphitheatre.
Q: What should I wear?
Attire at the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre is casual. Most guests wear shorts, khakis, polos, sleeveless tops, or summer dresses. The main seating area is grassed, so that should be considered when selecting footwear. Bringing a light jacket is recommended due to decreased temperatures after sunset.
Attire for Moonlight Broadway productions is dressy, while by no means formal. Most attendees wear slacks, button-up shirt, sport coat or jacket and tie, dress pants or skirt and blouse, or dresses.
Q: How do I audition or get involved?
Open auditions are held several times each year for school-age children, teens, and adults. Click here for additional audition information.
We often use volunteers to assist at the shows, pass out promotional materials, and just assist in general. Click here for additional volunteering information.
Additional involvement opportunities exist in the form of enrolling in the Moonlight Arts Academy, becoming a sponsor, advertising in our program, or purchasing a brick in the Lubbock Legend Walk of Fame.
